Bridgestone’s EVERTIRE Push: Pilot Pyrolysis Plant Targets Tire-to-Tire Circularity by 2027
Bridgestone announced a pilot demonstration plant for precise tire pyrolysis at its Seki City, Gifu facility, targeting start-up in 2027 to advance horizontal (tire-to-tire) recycling. The pilot aims to optimize production of recovered carbon black (rCB) and tire pyrolysis oil (TPO) as circular feedstocks for new tire manufacturing under the company’s EVERTIRE Initiative.
Why it matters for buyers & investors
- Global tire majors are laying the groundwork for spec’d rCB and TPO integration into future compounds—de-risking demand for qualified suppliers and technology owners. (See also Europe’s growing momentum on recycled content and end-of-life vehicle rules driving circular inputs.)
- As OEM adoption signals mature, projects with bankable offtake and traceable, spec-consistent outputs move to the front of the financing queue.
What Klean brings (commercial outcomes you can act on now)
- Bankable pyrolysis projects: Front-end engineering, EPC coordination, and rCB upgrading to hit tire-grade specs.
- Offtake structuring: Support on multi-year rCB/TPO agreements and quality protocols aligned to OEM expectations. (Related European JV activity underscores market pull.)
- Regulatory tailwinds & fleet decarbonization hooks: Where hydrogen logistics or ZEV freight are in scope, we align with the latest CARB frameworks to future-proof transport of scrap tires and circular commodities.
